The development plan for the Kampung Teluk Seribu tourist destination by the Balikpapan Youth, Sports and Tourism Agency (Disporapar) was warmly welcomed by Avian Brands, a well-known paint manufacturer in the country. Located in the Manggar Baru sub-district, the symbolic handover of more than 5,000 liters of paint assistance was given directly by the Branch Manager of Avian Brands Balikpapan area, Yoh Liang, to the Mayor of Balikpapan, Rizal Effendi, on Sunday, February 5, 2017.
The Mayor of Balikpapan appreciated Avian Brands' involvement in coloring the Teluk Seribu Tourist Village and invited residents to maintain the new facilities that will become a tourist attraction. “I also advise the community to jointly maintain these new facilities because the costs incurred are not small. Therefore, it is deemed necessary to be a shared responsibility,” he added.
The significant tourism potential of Teluk Seribu is well recognized by the Head of Balikpapan Disporapar, Oemy Facessly. “I see that this area has potential tourism value; everything is already here. This area also has strong local wisdom. It's just a matter of how we develop it into a new tourist destination,” she stated on a separate occasion.
As for Novi Christiana, Deputy Marketing Director of Avian Brands, local tourism development is one form of the company's commitment to providing added value to the community. “We strongly support this program implemented by Balikpapan Disporapar, as it aligns with the company's values to continuously create and provide positive value for all parties through quality services and quality products from Avian Brands, such as Avian Wood and Iron Paint and Avitex Roof, which were used to color 235 houses in Kampung Warna-Warni Teluk Seribu (Colorful Teluk Seribu Village)”. The painting process of the settlement, carried out collaboratively by residents and local artists, will last until the end of February. The inauguration of Kampung Wisata Warna-Warni Teluk Seribu (Colorful Teluk Seribu Tourist Village) is planned for February 28, 2017.
