Surabaya, March 8, 2024 – PT Avia Avian Tbk once again carried out a tree-planting action of 5,000 trees in the Mount Arjuna Slopes Area, Pasuruan, East Java. The inauguration of this activity was ceremonially marked at the Jendela Langit Tourism Area, Prigen, Pasuruan on February 24, 2024.
This marks the second time PT Avia Avian Tbk has carried out a tree-planting action of 5,000 trees, bringing the total number of trees planted to date to 10,000 trees. This carbon offset action is carried out as an effort to achieve the Company's sustainability mission as stated in the Sustainability Policy, particularly the Product Quality and Environment Pillars. This activity has a significant impact on the environment as it can absorb approximately 765,100 kgCO2e.
PT Avia Avian Tbk collaborates with Yayasan Satu Daun (One Leaf Foundation), involving local farmers to ensure the entire process of tree planting and care runs as expected. Thus, this activity not only supports environmental conservation but also plays a role in the development and improvement of the living standards of communities around Mount Arjuna.
In addition to carbon absorption efforts, the Company also continuously strives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated during operational and production processes. Gradually, there has been a shift in energy sources from fossil-based energy to renewable energy through the utilization of solar panels installed at various locations within the Company's premises. Furthermore, diesel-powered forklifts have gradually been replaced with more environmentally friendly electric forklifts.
PT Avia Avian Tbk will continue to increase its contribution to climate action and environmental protection through various concrete actions aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) aspects.
