press_release_79_1

Sidoarjo, March 2, 2026 - As part of its commitment to sustainability and climate resilience, in February 2026, PT Avia Avian Tbk (Avian Brands) carried out an initiative to plant more than 6,000 mangrove trees on Martajasah Beach, Bangkalan, East Java. This activity marked a concrete step by the Company to strengthen coastal protection while supporting climate change mitigation efforts in Indonesia.

Beyond planting mangrove trees, the program also provided mangrove nursery support to ensure the sustainability of the rehabilitated ecosystem. By strengthening the capacity of coastal communities in mangrove nurseries, planting, and conservation, Avian Brands fosters the creation of a sustainable conservation system from upstream to downstream.

This initiative is also part of the Company's preparations to promote nature-based carbon capture schemes. Mangrove ecosystems have a high capacity of carbon sequestration, thereby playing a strategic role in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. This effort also demonstrates the Company's responsibility in managing and offsetting emissions generated from its operational activities.

In terms of biodiversity, the rehabilitation of mangroves in the Bangkalan coastal area is expected to provide a safe habitat for various species of flora and fauna, including those listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List. Mangroves serve as spawning grounds, shelters, and natural food sources for marine life and coastal birds, thereby contributing significantly to biodiversity conservation.

Robert Christian Tanoko, Director of Operations & Development at PT Avia Avian Tbk, stated how this mangrove planting initiative formed a part of the Company's sustainability strategy, which is oriented towards long-term impact.

"More than just a ceremonial activity, we consider this mangrove planting initiative as a long-term ecological investment. Through providing nursery assistance, carbon capture preparation, and biodiversity protection, Avian Brands works to take responsibility for its emissions while providing tangible benefits to the environment and coastal communities," he said.

He also added how this integrated approach aligns with the Company's commitment to creating a balance between business growth, environmental preservation, and community welfare. Through this mangrove program, Avian Brands aspires to actively contribute to maintaining the resilience of Indonesia's coastline while supporting the national agenda of emission reduction and biodiversity conservation.
