Sidoarjo, June 18, 2025 - The strong commitment of PT Avia Avian Tbk (Avian Brands) to sustainability principles has once again yielded brilliant results. This leading paint company in Indonesia is officially listed in four prestigious sustainability indices, namely:
1. SRI-KEHATI
2. ESG Sector Leaders IDX KEHATI (ESGSKEHATI)
3. ESG Quality 45 IDX KEHATI (ESGQKEHATI)
4. IDX ESG Leaders (IDXESGL)
This achievement is tangible proof of Avian Brands' commitment to implementing sustainable management practices that consider environmental, social aspects, and good and responsible corporate governance (Environmental, Social, and Governance/ESG).
Avian Brands' inclusion in these four indices is also expected to further strengthen the trust of investors, consumers, and all stakeholders in the company's consistency in creating a greener, more inclusive, and integrity-driven future.
This commitment is realized through various sustainable initiatives and innovations, which are the backbone of the company's ESG success. Some of Avian Brands' flagship programs include:
1. Sustainability Digitalization through Avian Portal
Avian Brands developed Avian Portal, a futuristic data-driven digital system integrated across departments. This portal serves as a sustainability information hub that records, monitors, and analyzes all ESG aspects in real-time. Direct access by top management enables faster, more accurate, and data-driven strategic decision-making. This initiative strengthens transparency while enhancing inter-departmental collaboration in driving the achievement of overall sustainability targets.
2. Community Involvement & Development (CID) Program Based on ISO 26000
Avian Brands has also implemented a Community Involvement & Development (CID) program that refers to the international CSR standard ISO 26000. This program focuses on sustainable social development through participatory approaches and social responsibility. CID activities include support for education, economic empowerment of local communities, and environmental preservation, thereby creating harmonious relationships between the company and surrounding communities.
3. Clean Energy Transition “Electric Energy Forklifts”
As part of its decarbonization strategy, Avian Brands has replaced most diesel-powered forklifts with electric forklifts. This step successfully reduces greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 5.72 tons of CO₂e per year. Currently, over 65% of forklifts in production facilities already use battery-based or electric renewable energy, and the company is committed to gradually increasing this proportion.
4. Utilization of Renewable Energy & REC Procurement
Furthermore, Avian Brands consistently expands the utilization of renewable energy, such as the installation of solar panels in operational areas (Sidoarjo and Serang Factories), and plans to purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (REC). This initiative is part of the company's medium-term strategy to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030, while supporting the achievement of the Net Zero Emission Roadmap by 2050.
Avian Brands' Director of Operations and Development, Robert Christian Tanoko, affirmed that all these initiatives are part of a systematic approach and meet global interests. “These innovations and programs are only a part of our efforts. To see a complete picture of Avian Brands' sustainability strategy, the public can refer to our Sustainability Report, which is prepared based on national and international standards such as OJK Regulations, GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDSB, and the Indonesia Stock Exchange ESG Guide (IDX ESG Reporting Guide version 1.0),” he stated.
Through these various concrete steps, Avian Brands continues to demonstrate that sustainability is not just a long-term commitment, but also a part of its core business strategy in creating value for the environment, society, and stakeholders.
