Sidoarjo, March 19, 2025 – Avian Brands experienced an unfortunate incident, a fire at the solvent raw material storage warehouse of its Sidoarjo factory, on Thursday night (July 25, 2024). However, this emergency condition was handled very well by the Avian Brands Emergency Response Preparedness Team, which successfully managed the fire incident with full responsibility and in accordance with the applicable K3 (Occupational Health and Safety) and Emergency Management System. This is proven by tests conducted by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) around the incident area. The tests were also accompanied by the Sidoarjo Regency Environmental and Sanitation Agency, which conducted field reviews twice on November 6, 2024, and November 29, 2024. These tests were carried out to fulfill obligations in accordance with KLHK regulations as a reference to ensure no harmful environmental contamination impacts. The results of these tests are shown in the Certificate of Completion of Emergency Management S.30/PLTTDLB3/TD/PLB.6.4/B/01/2025 issued by KLHK on January 10, 2025, stating that there is no pollution or contamination from materials that could potentially harm the environment.
According to the issued certificate, the cause of the incident is suspected to be a natural factor of solvent evaporation triggered by static electricity, leading to a fire. Following this incident, the tests conducted by KLHK and the Sidoarjo Regency Environmental and Sanitation Agency included soil sample tests, surface water, IPAL (Wastewater Treatment Plant) outlet wastewater, and ambient air quality according to required parameters. The certificate received by Avian Brands is an official statement from the government, in this case KLHK, and confirms that Avian Brands has successfully implemented environmental pollution prevention efforts and post-incident recovery effectively and maximally after the fire incident, as stated in point 4 of the certificate:
“Based on the results of the emergency management evaluation in accordance with the provisions in the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation Number 74 Year 2019 concerning Emergency Programs for B3 and/or B3 Waste Management and the results of tests and analysis of soil and water samples, the emergency management in the form of a solvent raw material warehouse fire at PT Avia Avian Tbk has been completed and there is no need for environmental function restoration at the location.”
“We greatly appreciate the support and cooperation from KLHK in the comprehensive testing and evaluation process. PT Avia Avian Tbk is committed to continuously maintaining high operational standards by prioritizing aspects of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) and Environment, as well as sustainability principles. We will proactively and consistently continue to implement risk mitigation measures, environmentally friendly innovations, and safe and responsible work practices to ensure operational sustainability aligned with environmental protection and employee welfare,” said the EHS Manager of PT Avia Avian Tbk.
As a company oriented towards Sustainability, Avian Brands is consistently committed to improving good risk management and control and strengthening its Health, Safety, and Security (K3) management system at every stage of its operations, thereby ensuring socially and environmentally responsible business operations.

We hope that this certificate can provide assurance to the public, stakeholders, and all business partners that we are committed to protecting the surrounding environment and prioritizing social interests as part of our corporate responsibility," he added.
