Avian Brands Peduli visited Pesisir Kulon Pangandaran on July 28, 2023, for the activity of repainting 50 local fishing boats. This activity, titled Petik Laut, coincided with the implementation of Hajat Laut or a thanksgiving ceremony in the Pangandaran area, which is held once a year in the month of Suro.
This time, the paint assistance provided by Avian Brands Peduli consisted of 450 kg of Avian Wood and Iron Paint and 60 cans of original Avian Thinner B. The total amount of assistance was handed over directly by representatives from Avian Brands to representatives of the Pesisir Kulon Pangandaran community.
“Our activities during Hajat Laut usually begin by preparing equipment to fill the dongdang (containers for offerings), then together we take the dongdang to the sea,” said a representative of the Pesisir Kulon Pangandaran residents.
The volunteers and local community expressed their gratitude for the assistance from Avian Brands. “I feel grateful and thankful to Avian Brands for helping the community in the Pangandaran area and for sponsoring the repainting of our fishing boats,” said Endi, Head of Fishermen of Pesisir Kulon Pangandaran.
The assistance provided by Avian Brands Peduli is a form of support for the sustainability of the coastal community's economy, especially fishermen in the Pangandaran area. The hope is that economic activities in this area can continue to run smoothly while also becoming a tourist attraction for Pangandaran.
The Petik Laut activity is part of Avian Brands Peduli's social responsibility, which is the platform for Avian Brands' CSR programs, including contributions in education, environment, and disaster response. Previously, Petik Laut activities have been carried out in several other coastal areas in Indonesia.
