Surabaya, August 26, 2026 — PT Avia Avian Tbk (Avian Brands) continues to strengthen its commitment to environmental management by implementing Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to comprehensively evaluate the potential environmental impacts of its products and processes. As part of its sustainability journey, Avian Brands maintains LCA documentation that records the life cycle assessment process and the results of studies on relevant environmental aspects.
The implementation of LCA is one of the approaches Avian Brands uses to gain a more comprehensive understanding of environmental impacts across the assessed life cycle stages. This approach covers various aspects, ranging from the use of raw materials and resources and energy consumption to emissions and other potential environmental impacts.
· Referring to the International Standards ISO 14040 and ISO 14044
· In its implementation, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) refers to the international standards ISO 14040:2006 and ISO 14044:2006.
ISO 14040:2006 – Environmental Management — Life Cycle Assessment — Principles and Framework establishes the principles and framework for conducting LCA, including the determination of goals and scope, life cycle inventory analysis (LCI), life cycle impact assessment (LCIA), interpretation of results, reporting, and critical review.
Meanwhile, ISO 14044:2006 – Environmental Management — Life Cycle Assessment — Requirements and Guidelines provides requirements and guidelines for conducting LCA, including the LCI, LCIA, interpretation, reporting, and critical review processes.
The use of these two standards provides a systematic framework for conducting LCA studies. It helps ensure that the assessment process is carried out in a structured, transparent, and accountable manner.
Avian Brands’ LCA Documentation:
As part of the documentation of the assessment process, Avian Brands maintains several LCA-related documents, including:
1. Environmental Program Integration Calculation Document through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA);
2. Life Cycle Assessment Report of PT Avia Avian Tbk;
3. Executive Summary of the Life Cycle Assessment Report;
4. Management Commitment Document on the Results of the Life Cycle Assessment Study; and
5. Life Cycle Assessment Report – Critical Review 2026.
These documents provide an overview of the assessment process, assessment results, key findings, and follow-up actions and management commitments related to the LCA results.
Specifically for the critical review process, ISO 14071:2024 – Environmental Management — Life Cycle Assessment — Critical Review Processes and Reviewer Competencies provides additional requirements and guidelines on critical review processes and reviewer competencies in LCA studies.
For Avian Brands, the implementation of LCA is not solely intended to produce an environmental assessment but also to inform the Company’s efforts to identify areas for improvement.
Through a life-cycle approach, the Company can obtain a more comprehensive view of potential environmental impacts than by evaluating only a single stage of its operations. This information can serve as one of the bases for identifying opportunities for resource efficiency, innovation development, and improvements in environmental performance.
This approach is also aligned with the Avian Brands Sustainability Strategy (ABSS), which positions Environment as one of the Company’s four main sustainability pillars, alongside Product, People & Community, and Governance.
Under the Environment Pillar, Avian Brands focuses on responsible resource management through energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, decarbonization initiatives, and the implementation of circular economy principles.
Meanwhile, from the Product Pillar perspective, an LCA-based approach can support the Company’s efforts to develop innovative, high-quality, safe products that are increasingly attentive to environmental considerations.
The availability of LCA documentation also reflects Avian Brands’ commitment to enhancing transparency in environmental impact management. Documentation covering the assessment, results, management commitments, and critical review demonstrates the Company’s efforts to establish a systematic environmental evaluation process.
For Avian Brands, sustainability is an evolving process. Therefore, the results of LCA studies can serve as one input for identifying opportunities to improve performance and support the continued development of the Company’s sustainability strategy.
Through a Life Cycle Assessment approach aligned with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044, Avian Brands continues to strengthen data-driven environmental management from a life-cycle perspective. This initiative forms part of Avian Brands’ journey toward building an increasingly resilient, innovative, and responsible business focused on creating long-term value for customers, stakeholders, and the environment.
